welcome visitors.. to Kain The Creative Quilting.

It's different , not to classic , not to bold , but very creative in approaching the colors , using the pattern & most of all using the traditional Batiks & Bali Batiks to add the touch . All my quilt done very carefully by hand. the sawing machine only put piecing together. one small quilt ( wall hanging) need more than 168 hour, use only the finest treads and have more than 1000 stitches .

This is my collection , I hope you will enjoy my work in Patchwork & Quilting as much as I am enjoying the process of making it's.

Baltimore Wedding

Type : King size bed cover

Item : 1 Bed cover, 4 pillow case, 1 wall hanging .

16 block of Baltimore flower with flower border tie in a blue ribbon.

consists 20 different fabrics pattern. or in other bargello , I use 20 different colors hue. from dark color to light colors. some times I use 4 or 5 colors with each of color have 5 or 4 hue, its will have different effect in my bargello .

Type : King bed cover.

round bargello make by using special ruler. with 60 degree angle for cutting the strips.

BARGELLO HEART.

This Bargello is more fun to make than the bargello shooting stars.. because you can play with color. And any color you use will make the bargello looks very nice.

Rose of Sharon

On this king size : 320 small leaf, 64 big leaf , 260 small stars, 16 big stars, 16 flowers.

I use 8 different color batik from pekalongan. 3 batiks from old (lawas) and the other 5 from new batiks.

In my bottom picture I use ordinary Bali batiks fabric deep red and deep green. You can see the different effect. with pekalongan batiks looks like peranakan or nonik nonik belanda (colonial Dutch lady's). and Bali batiks fabric , appear vintage.

for this quilt. I use hand made batik lasem.

Balinese panel already made. I am combine with black, red ,and black and white strips as ascent. and put together in contemporary looks,

Batiks with Border.

I Have a lots of customer who like to make a bed cover from their old or sometimes a new batik to make a bed cover with out cutting the batik. but the problem were the batik size. sarong only 115 cm x 200 cm. and the kain panjang only 115cm x 250 cm. So I decided to add border with the leaf accent or butterfly to make the border seem integrate with the batik. And for king size you need two identical batik. and that was a challenges for me, seen its very difficult to find an identical batik. here are few sample.

Bento box

It is very simple design. but if you use extra ordinary fabric its will appears little bit contemporary. I use 5 different motif of batik ( sidomukti,kawung,truntum,sidodradjat,parangrusak). its classic but with a modern approach. in other picture, you will see that I use flowery motif to make bento box for a teenager bed cover. I add a white flower on top of bento box to make more girly look .

Butterfly.

I love making quilt with butterfly motif. This is my favorite motif that sometimes I can get enough of its. I Do almost 20 quilt for this motif and I am not going to stop. I experiment with different fabric : batik, Japanese fabric. here are some of my creation.

King size : Pekalongan batik.

Stars.

Actually this design is not that complicate as may seem. its just different strips cut to 45 degree. I always combine this stars with applique motif.

Split stars. consist 2 stars that's split into 4. add heart wreath and bird applique.

Christmas time.

So many thing that you can make for a Christmas. my favorite is 12 day of Christmas. a quilt that base on the famous song, about a farmer who try to win a girls heart with 12 gift in 12 day before Christmas.

Contemporary Quilt.

Some times I likes experiment with design, cutting and using a lots of color fabric . in order for me to be free for this kind of experiment is making the contemporary quilt. so no body can tell me if my design is failed .

Hawaiian Quilt.

the method that I use for making Hawaiian quilt called reverse applique, sometimes people said sandwich method. the method is putting two layer of fabric together and make applique with the upper layer became the base fabric. instead of the second layer become the basic .
